Will Google, WhatsApp and Instagram really work?

Yes. baoesim connects to China's local mobile networks but routes your data internationally, the same way your home SIM does when it roams. So the apps you use at home work as normal, with no VPN to install or switch on.

When should I install my eSIM?

Before you leave, while you're on Wi‑Fi at home. Installing takes about two minutes. Leave the line switched off, then turn it on with data roaming when you land in China. Your plan's days start counting when it first connects there.

Do I get a Chinese phone number?

No. baoesim is data only. Your regular number stays on your main SIM for calls and texts, and WhatsApp, iMessage and FaceTime keep working over data with your usual number.

Can I use Alipay, WeChat Pay and DiDi?

Yes. They work over baoesim like any other app. Tip: download them and link your foreign card before you travel. It makes the first day much easier.

Can I share data with my laptop?

Yes, hotspot is included on every plan. If you work remotely, the 30‑day Max plan gives you 50 GB of room.

What happens if I run out of data?

Top up in a minute from your account, or pick a new plan. You'll get a heads‑up before your data runs low.

Does it cover Hong Kong and Macau?

baoesim plans are built for mainland China. If your trip also includes Hong Kong or Macau, message us before you buy and we'll help you plan.
